1.  Learning that continues:

  • Initial training with Guru Shri Mangudi Durairaja Iyer in the year 1969. Arangetram –debut performance was in 1972. 
  • Veena training with Smt. Kalpagam Swaminathan.
  • Studied Theoretical aspects of Bharatha Natyam under the guidance of Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam (1976-1981.
  • Bharatnatyam training with Smt Kanchana Sharma, another disciple of Mangudi Durairaja Iyer during 1980-81.
  • Advanced training in Abhinaya from Miss Lakshmi Viswanathan in 1984.
  • Studied Theoretical aspects of Bharatha Natyam under the guidance of Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam (1976-1981).
  • 1985 to 1988, Training in Nattuvangam from Bhagavatulu Sitarama Sharma.
  • 1986, in-depth study of Bharatha Natyam under Sri T S Parthasarathy, musicologist and the then secretary of the Music Academy, Madras.
  • 1988, training in Kuchipudi from the famous Vempati Chinna Satyam.
  • 2003 training in Abhinaya from the dance exponent Smt Kalanidhi Narayanan.

  • 1992 extensive tour of USA and Canada, as a member of the ballet “Krishnam Vandhe Jagatgurum”, produced by the International Dance Alliance (IDA).
  • 1995- Italy– World Conference on Peace & Religion
  • 1995- London
  • 1997- toured USA and Canada with a 13 member troupe staging the ballet ‘Amballathil Aadum Jyothi”.
  • 2004 –toured United States of America performing in 15 cities, with a 9 member troupe staging the ballet ‘OM Saravana Bhava’ producer, director and choreographer -Revathi Ramachandran
  • 2004 – directed a choreographic workshop for India Dance Wales at Cardiff- United Kingdom.
  • 2005– toured France and Germany as part of a ten member troupe presenting the Theatre-de- la- Ville  production of St. Thyagarajas’ Opera –“Nauka Charithram” directed by Smt. Charumathi Ramachandran.
  • 2005-June- Toured Singapore with troupe of 10 presenting two productions at Perumal temple on the 4th and 5th June-for the Kumbhabhishekam of the temple.
  • Choreographic workshop at Pittsburgh USA–June and July 2005. Presented two productions in Orlando and Pittsburgh . in June /July 2005.
  • 2006- Theoretical and practical workshop in Atlanta and Pittsburgh- June 2006.
  • 2007- Tour of Germany and France with a 8 member troupe presenting the production OM SHIVAYA NAMAH  in 18 centres- April/ May 2007.
  • 2009-  July,Performed Om Namah Sivaya at Atlanta USA- for Fetna.

5.  Special contributions:

  • Participated in the production of the film titled “A Poetry of Dance” by Lakshmi Viswanathan for the Festival of India.
  • 1989, received a fellowship from the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resources Development to conduct research in Dance.
  • Deiveega Thirumanangal” – Directed A thirteen episode serial for the Doordarshan Madras
  • Provided video footage and coordinated the production of CD ROM Bharathanatyam.
  • Directed Dance for the CD Production- Jnaana Parambarai by Penta Media
